Wills
In the UK, over half of adults do not have a will in place. Sorting out inheritance without a will is longer, more difficult and challenging for your loved ones.
A properly drafted will ensures your estate is distributed as you intend. It provides certainty for your loved ones, and can help minimise inheritance tax liabilities. We prepare tailor-made wills that clearly set out your wishes and reduce the risk of future disputes.
Whether you are writing your first Will or updating an existing one, our experts provide tailored guidance to protect your estate and loved ones.
We offer a range of services for Wills:
Drafting & Review
We prepare wills that are legally valid and tailored to your personal circumstances. Our focus is on ensuring clarity and certainty, so your wishes are carried out exactly as intended.
Updating
Life changes such as marriage, divorce, the birth of children, or acquiring new assets can all affect the validity and effectiveness of your will. We provide a straightforward service for updating your will, giving you peace of mind that it always reflects your current situation.
Inheritance Protection
We help you structure your will to safeguard family wealth and provide for future generations. Our advice can include the use of trusts and other estate planning strategies to protect assets from unnecessary tax or claims.
Disputes
Disputes over wills and estates can be complex and emotionally challenging. We act for beneficiaries, executors, and claimants in contested probate matters, providing clear advice and strong representation to achieve fair outcomes and, where possible, avoid drawn-out litigation.

Supporting the Alzheimer’s Society
We are proud to announce our participation in Wills to Remember, a meaningful initiative in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Society. At ELS Legal, we are committed to supporting our community, and our team understands the importance of planning ahead, especially in the face of life-altering conditions such as dementia. We approach every client with sensitivity, professionalism, and care, ensuring your wishes are clearly expressed and legally protected.
As a participating firm with the Alzheimer’s Society’s Wills to Remember, we offer people the opportunity to write or update simple Wills free of charge. Through this service, you will receive a pack from the Alzheimer’s Society that includes a Will guide and a list of local solicitors, and you can choose one of those participating solicitors, including us, to draft your Will.
By working with us through the Wills to Remember scheme, you benefit from legal support that is sensitive to the challenges faced by people living with dementia or caring for someone with dementia, knowing that solicitors in the network are committed to offering care, understanding, and clear guidance.
Importantly, this free simple Will service includes single and mirror Wills; and where your estate or circumstances are more complex, we will explain any extra costs in advance so there are no surprises. Many clients also choose to include a “gift” in their Will to the Alzheimer’s Society, although there is no obligation to do so.
It is our privilege to support this cause and help make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals and families living with dementia.
